UIC's Crossing Latinidades Summer Institute
Congratulations to UCSB graduate students chosen to attend UIC's Crossing Latinidades Summer Institute!
The Latinx Sound Cultures Studies (LSCS) Research Group is a part of the Crossing Latinidades, humanities/humanistic social science initiative funded by the Andrew Mellon Foundation. Led by Professors D. Inés Casillas (UCSB), Esther Díaz-Martín (UIC), and Sara V. Hinojos (Queens College) with junior peers Kristian Vasquez (UCSB), Eliana Buenrostro (UCR), and José Manuel Flores (UTEP), they concluded year one of their grant by hosting 5 Latinx Sound related webinars. A series of Latinx Sound Cultures essays will be published this fall in the academic, activist site: Sounding Out! A Sound Studies Blog.
Our congratulations to UCSB graduate students chosen to attend UIC's Crossing Latinidades Summer Institute: John Jairo Valenica (Chicana and Chicano Studies), Luis Marin Ramírez (Chicana and Chicano Studies) and Alex Mireles (Feminist Studies).
