Monika Banach

Monika Banach is a Lecturer in the Anthropology Department at UCSB. She holds a Ph.D. in  Culture and Religion Studies (discipline: ethnology) from Jagiellonian University in Poland. She  is an affiliate at Jagiellonian University, where she conducts her research project in the Ixil region  in Guatemala, and is part of the research team of the Project of the Conservation of the Chajul  Murals. Her research interests include perceptions of the environment, new approaches to animism,  and indigenous philosophies.
